Windows Mail to HTML Converter is a small utility designed to let you export Windows Mail content, messages and attachments, into structured HTML archive files that can be viewed in any web browser. It is ideal as a back up solution for your mail when you need to re-install the Operating System, the mail client itself or want to safeguard your correspondence against hardware crashes and software errors that can make the client's content inaccessible. With Windows Mail to HTML Converter, export can be pretty much a snap. To begin, the user runs the program, which opens into the interface, much like Windows Mail in terms of design layout. In the left area there is a tree of mail folders, in the bottom right area there is a listing of all email messages and above are the export options you need to set up before conversion. To view any message, click on it, and it'll open in the Message View window like in Windows Mail. The program comes with a default configuration for exporting archives but the user can also tell it exactly what parts of the mail client's data to convert. It's possible to break down your Windows Mail archive into senders, addresses, and periods, apply different color schemes to the HTML output files to tell them apart at a glance. The program can also create subfolders in your output file corresponding to the folders in the user identity of Windows Mail chosen for archiving. As an alternative, it can store all filtered messages in one HTML file. When you have set up the filters, conversion is quick and easy - just click the "Convert" button and the program starts the conversion according to your preferences. The HTML output can be viewed in any browser and also added new data if necessary.
